This project aims to systematically quantify the effects of non-Markovian noise in nonlinear stochastic dynamics with the main focus on bifurcations and noise-induced phenomena such as delay of bifurcations, metastability, and chaos. In order to detect, anticipate, and calculate the distance toward bifurcation points, we rely on the theory of early warning sign, which can be observed by an increasing variance/autocorrelation of the corresponding dynamical system. One of the novelties is to incorporate non-Markovian fluctuations into the models, including colored noise, fractional Brownian motion, and the Rosenblatt process.
