SPP 1102:  Adaptability in Heterogeneous Communication Networks with Wireless Access

Subject Area Computer Science, Systems and Electrical Engineering
Term from 2000 to 2006
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 5470628

Project Description

The goal of this priority programme is to work on fundamentals, concepts, and methods for the design and operation of communication networks with wireless access that will have an extensive adaptability in its functions. This adaptability will include all system levels and components: wireless transmission, communication protocols, network organization, network management, services and service control, modeling, and planning. The projects in this program cover the research areas: Third and forth generation cellular networks, self-organizing ad hoc networks, wireless LANs, channel estimation and link adaptation, coding, adaptive antenna systems, mobility management, service management, and network planning.
