Project Details
Responses of protist communities during degradation and recovery (A06)
Subject Area
Microbial Ecology and Applied Microbiology
Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 426547801
In Phase I, project A06 demonstrated a decreasing diversity in protist communities when multiple stressors act at high levels and we demonstrated a differential effect of salinity on the food preference of protists with respect to Proteobacteria and Actinobacteria. In Phase II, project A06 will focus on the underlying mechanisms that lead to the observed microbial community responses and shifts of food preferences and extent these findings to the recovery from stressors and particularly to the analysis of effects of drought and recovery from drought.
