The central goal of this theory project is the development and application of real-time and data analysis techniques for quantum many-body systems in extreme conditions. In the past funding period, our predictions of new phenomena, such as gauge-invariant condensation in QCD far from equilibrium, open up important research on novel dynamical universality classes and phases. In the planned funding period, we will develop nonequilibrium functional renormalization group techniques to establish a comprehensive fixed-point structure in terms of running couplings. To efficiently capture crucial global properties, such as the topology and its changes, we will investigate scale-dependent hierarchies of complexes using persistent homology.
