Electromagnetic alignment of reinforcement elements (B03)

Subject Area Plastics Engineering
Term since 2025
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 525069572

Project Description

The focus of sub-project B03 is on setting an active defined fibre orientation in short and long fibre rein-forced plastics (FRP) and a defined grading zone in the transition zone to continuous reinforced or non-reinforced sub-structures. An active alignment of the fibres is to be achieved by an external magnetic exci-tation in an isostatic state. The research focus is on the realisation of a suitable coating process for the generation of magnetic coated carbon fibres (mc-CF) as well as the generation of polymer compounds with integrated mc-CF and the experimental as well as numerical investigation.
