The project examines on the basis of two datasets – a comparative dataset that contains ap-proval ratings for political parties in 16 European countries since around 1970, and a dataset that documents topic-specific surveys, their thematic orientation, their clients and their media resonance for Germany since around 2010 – central theses of the CRC on the consequences of ‘attention’ and its measurement for political action and the functioning of representative democracy.
