Project Details
Macroscopic modeling of damage evolution in forming processes (Project C02)
Subject Area
Mechanics
Term
since 2025
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 278868966
The overall objective of the project is the development and implementation of advanced macro level models that cover various phenomena relevant for the prediction and control of damage in forming processes. This includes modeling of, e.g., anisotropic damage evolution, temperature and rate dependencies, recrystallization, and damage reduction phenomena. Towards the integrative investigation of entire process chains, modeling of microstructural effects induced by hot working and annealing will be extended by the modeling and simulation of phase transformations. Furthermore, uncertainty quantification of the influence of (material) parameters on, e.g., damage evolution is a key challenge and will be investigated along representative load paths.
