Metaflammation induced by high-caloric intake impacts B cell immunity. This results in biased B cell receptor repertoires in systemic and intestinal tissues and, indeed, high-fat diet (HFD)-induced IgG antibodies have been shown to be one factor contributing to the induction of metaflammation. In contrast, intestinal IgA is partly protective in HFD-induced metaflammation, likely by controlling intestinal inflammation and intestinal permeability. Here, we aim to define the targets and functional role of HFD-induced intestinal IgA antibodies on metaflammation without confounder effects induced by different diet compositions or the microbiota.
