Project Details
Damage-controlled flat rolling (Project A04)
Subject Area
Primary Shaping and Reshaping Technology, Additive Manufacturing
Term
since 2025
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 278868966
Project A04 aims to control ductile damage during flat rolling and DP heat treatment, focusing on hot and cold rolling processes. The objective is to develop methods for processing damage-tolerant sheets for improved performance. Investigations in the third period involve adapting annealing parameters based on damage control strategies, aiming for tailored products and the examination of the entire process chain. Collaboration includes using Gaussian processes regression to decouple damage control from microstructure evolution and exploring active damage mechanisms. In order to evaluate the performance of the sheets manufactured under damage control, they will be further processed to seating rails and tested.
