Systematic analysis of ER-shaping Reticulon and REEP proteins (P01)

Subject Area Cell Biology
Term since 2024
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 511488495

Project Description

To understand how the complex architecture of the ER is generated, we propose to systematically analyze the major ER membrane-shaping proteins of the Reticulon and REEP families. We will first characterize their molecular environments, second determine their precise localization in cells and third investigate their functions by a targeted degradation approach. This work will help to elucidate how different ER subdomains are established and enable the various functions of the organelle.
