Mechanical behaviour of hybrid components with gradients of the alloy composition (C04)

Subject Area Materials in Sintering Processes and Generative Manufacturing Processes
Term since 2024
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 511263698

Project Description

Beyond the topological optimisation, for HyPo-components the material composition shall be optimised locally depending on the loads applied. For this, a thorough understanding of the relation between the material distribution and the local mechanical properties is indispensable, which will be gained in C04. Therefore, specimens with different gradients of 316L and 17-4 PH are additively manufactured, and their mechanical properties are analysed. In these investigations a special focus is laid on the relation between the material gradient, the build-up direction in additive manufacturing process and the resulting mechanical properties.
