Influence of microstructural notches and stress gradients on the fatigue behaviour of additively manufactured HyPo-components (C01)

Subject Area Mechanical Properties of Metallic Materials and their Microstructural Origins
Materials in Sintering Processes and Generative Manufacturing Processes
Term since 2024
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 511263698

Project Description

HyPo-components underly spatially graded and multiaxial loads, which interact with process-induced microstructural notches, being crucial for the fatigue strength. Thus, in C01 the fatigue behaviour of additively manufactured shells made of 17-4 PH, which are filled with an AlSi10Mg foam and thus, are representative for a HyPo-component, is analysed. For this, in fatigue tests different load types are applied, which lead to different stress states and gradients, enabling the analysis of the interrelation between the loading applied and the microstructural notches present in HyPo-components.
