Project Details
Laser directed energy deposition of functionally graded materials on porous metals (B01)
Subject Area
Joining and Separation Technology
Term
since 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 511263698
Graded material layers on porous metals will lead to new, previously unavailable material systems with locally defined adjusted material properties. Such FGMs offer significant potential for saving weight, reducing inertia and optimising the functionality of components. In this project, it will be researched how layers with different compositional material gradations can be deposited on porous metals using powder-based L-DED. Therefore, suitable manufacturing strategies developed. These form the basis for the manufacturing of HyPo-components using L-DED.
