Myeloid cell–regulatory T cell crosstalk in thrombus development and resolution (A10)

Subject Area Immunology
Term since 2023
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 490846870

Immune and vascular cells sense proteolytic activity through protease-activated receptors (PARs) and these pathways contribute to regeneration following injury. We will analyze how PAR signaling regulated the development and activation of a specialized population of Treg cells that imposes functional changes on the myeloid compartment in clot resolution. With unique PAR mutant knock-in mouse models, cell-type specific PAR deletion, and mice with altered coagulation control, we will determine which signals in the clot emanate from myeloid cells to regulate tissue repair Treg cells and their reciprocal crosstalk.
