Predicting the toxicity and estimating the environmental risk of microplastic particles based on their properties (S01*)
Subject Area

Term
since 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 391977956
This project explores machine learning models to predict the toxicity of microplastic (MP) particles based on their properties across the CRC 1357. Using a data-driven approach, this project aims to identify MP properties or combinations of properties that are associated with toxic effects and investigates whether these relationships can be generalized across species or levels of biological organization (from cell to organism). The knowledge gained will be used to develop an environmental risk assessment based on MP properties and will inform the development of more environmentally friendly materials.
