Striatales Dopamin und motorische Kontrolle: Einfluss körperlicher Zustände auf die Motivation motorischer Anstrengung (C03)

Subject Area Human Cognitive and Systems Neuroscience
Term since 2021
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 431549029

Project Description

Project C03 focuses on the role of dopamine in motivating movements while extending the scope to the influence of bodily states. In the first funding period, project C03 provided direct evidence that the reduction of effortful movements in Parkinson’s disease depends on motivation and that this effect is associated with striatal dopamine. In the second funding period, we investigate if the motivation for motor effort is modulated by sham-controlled transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation and if this modulation is dopamine dependent.
