Project B03 aims at understanding the neural network dynamics underlying the control of movements in adulthood and during (non-)pathological aging. In the first funding period, project B03 focused on developing toolboxes and network models to analyze neural communication between brain areas involved in motor control based on phase and amplitude synchronization of neural oscillations. In the second funding period, these network models are refined and analyzed to challenge identified network markers of movement control that could be implemented into the clinical routine for therapeutic purposes. Further, project B03 investigates how stroke-induced changes in motor network connectivity relate to impaired motor behavior and plasticity.
