Project Details
Quantitative assessment of endothelial permeability by novel scalable BODIPY nanostructures (B01)
Subject Area
Nuclear Medicine, Radiotherapy, Radiobiology
Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 431460824
In the first funding period, we have developed size-controllable aza-BODIPY nanostructures for optical and photoacoustic imaging. We will now utilize these to expand the platform to PET-MRI and to multimodally study endothelial permeability in vivo in local and systemic inflammation. We also aim to modulate the shape of the aza-BODIPY assemblies to rationalize the relationship between molecular design, aggregate morphology and associated cell labelling efficacy. We will ultimately in vivo track aza-BODIPY-labelled monocytes in inflammatory diseases as well as to the tumour microenvironment in a murine cancer model.
