Effects of maternal and early postnatal high-fat diet on the developmental programming of brain-resident macrophages (P08)

Subject Area Immunology
Developmental Biology
Term since 2021
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 432325352

Project Description

We have shown that maternal obesity exacerbates the development of fatty liver disease. This is attributed to the developmental programming of hepatic macrophages by maternal-derived metabolites, disrupting their core functions essential for tissue homeostasis. To investigate whether maternal metaflammation also affects other long-lived, tissue-resident macrophages during distinct developmental stages, we will now investigate the effects of maternal and early postnatal high-fat diet on the developmental programming of brain-resident macrophages.
