Who Owns the Foundation? Infrastructure Orders and the Renegotiation of the Public Sphere (C04)

This project continues the investigation of welfare state restructuring and renegotiation of the public sphere and places the ownership of infrastructures, understood as stationary, material condensations of social policies. Infrastructures such as water systems or health care are complex systems characterized by the concatenation of objects, resources, services, and governance structures with graduated rights of use, disposal, exploitation, and disposal. With the analysis of infrastructure discourses and orders in Germany, Spain and Great Britain, the project inquires both how and with what ownership implications infrastructures are negotiated and discussed as well as how they are organized and connected in concrete proprietary terms.
