Subject Area
Political Science
Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 424638267
According to this project, economic ownership has an impact on political (in)equality in representative democracies and calls into question their promise of equality. From the perspective of elite sociology, the project analyzes the role of property for access to elite positions as well as the representational relationship between elites and the population. In the second funding phase, the focus is on a) the longitudinal analysis of property effects, b) the interactions of parliamentary and post-parliamentary careers (revolving door effect), and c) individual and spatial property relations. The analysis is based on a mixed-methods research design using Germany as an example.
