This project addresses the influence of noble metal particle size/composition and properties of the support on the catalyst performance and its activation/deactivation/reactivation behavior. Mono- and bimetallic clusters and nanoparticles of defined size are synthesized according to the ‘precur-sor’ concept, and anchored on support oxides. Catalytic activity and selectivity for CH4/NH3/VOC oxidation will be systematically evaluated during kinetic studies under model and more complex re-action conditions, including rapid variations in gas mixture and temperature as well as the presence of H2O vapors, NOx and various catalyst poisons.
