Process Control and Adaptive Path Planning for Additive Manufacturing Processes Based on Industrial Robots with an Extended Degree of Freedom (B04)

Subject Area Automation, Mechatronics, Control Systems, Intelligent Technical Systems, Robotics
Production Automation and Assembly Technology
Term since 2020
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 414265976

Project Description

The integration of robot-guided additive manufacturing in construction increases the degree of automation and thus lead to increased productivity and improved component quality. The goal of Project B04 is to enable a stable, mobile robot-based production of multi-material and building installation integrated components and thereby overcome the limited workspace of stationary systems. Four tasks were identified to achieve this goal: expanding printing trajectory planning capabilities towards mobile robot printers, enhancing build-up stability simulation to integrate building installation, advancing online process control, and developing simulation-based surrogate models for online stability prediction.
