Employing the security paradox angle over these past three years has enabled me to challenge established ways of understanding people’s safety in conflict-affected and fragile contexts. I disseminated key findings in top academic journals. However, I kindly request a two-year prolongation of my research project to tackle two key remaining tasks: first, I will complete primary data collection efforts in Lebanon and Central African Republic (CAR) that were delayed due to travel restrictions during the corona pandemic (2020-2022). Second, the preliminary security paradox findings merit further reflection based on these additional empirics and further publication in top journals.
