ncRNA control of multi-protein complex activity (A05)

Subject Area Cell Biology
Cardiology, Angiology
Term since 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 403584255

Project Description

In the previous funding period, we identified a nuclear encoded lncRNA that is translocated to mitochondria, regulating activity of branched chain amino acid catabolism and thereby controling cardiac hypertrophy. We also detected additional mitochondrially-localised lncRNAs with unknown functions in cardiomyocytes and in smooth muscle cells, whose biochemical and physiological functions will be determined in the next funding period. Furthermore, we will uncover the molecular and physiological functions of lncRNAs, interacting with the INO80 chromatin remodeling complex, which were identified by an in vivo HyperTRIBE approach in the last funding period.
