Families are at the focus of many government policies. These range from tax policy to social security design and labor market regulation, and often affect women differently from men. The project explores different dimensions of family life and how they are affected by market failures and government policies. We consider the family in the labor market, study education decisions, and address family formation including fertility, marriage, and divorce. A special focus will be on the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic for families. The project involves theoretical and quantitative components.
