This project uses geometric and Fourier analytic methods to study sharp estimates in harmonic analysis. One goal is to find the sharp constant in the classical Fourier restriction estimate on the circle. This problem is attacked by a mix of analytical and numerical methods. The second goal is to solve convergence questions for phase unwinding, a compression method for functions that in experiments converges faster than Fourier series. The third goal concerns multilinear estimates in the context of so-called singular Brascamp-Lieb inequalities.
