Association of myeloid cell and gut-derived B cell diversity with disease activity and severity in multiple sclerosis (B05)

Subject Area Molecular and Cellular Neurology and Neuropathology
Term since 2017
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 259373024

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system (CNS). We aim to investigate the association of diverse myeloid and B cells as well as molecular profiles with disease activity and severity in MS. We aim to generate multi-modal datasets on immune cell heterogeneity across body compartments, of treated or untreated MS patients, in comparison to other neuroinflammatory diseases to improve the knowledge on MS-associated phenotypic transmission and interaction of multiple immune cells and its changes under different disease phases and conditions.
