.In the first funding period, methods for the state estimation of adaptive truss structures and frames were developed. Both conventional sensors as well as the newly developed optical multi-point technique were used in the sensor fusion process. The main focus of the second funding period will be the transfer of the methods and principles developed to date to plane load-bearing structures, structures with a wide span (e. g. bridges), and modular systems. Two new approaches will be investigated concerning the optical measurement technology. First, the multi-point method will be advanced to a multi-image method with the aim of achieving an accuracy comparable to that of the multi-point technique. The second approach is intended for bridges (cf. project C07) as an easily installable, cost effective means for continuous and fast deformation measurements.
