Acclimation of transport across chloroplast envelopes (B06)

Subject Area Plant Physiology
Term since 2016
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 270050988

Project Description

Chloroplast metabolite fluxes need to be adapted under changing temperature and light conditions. In this context we are particularly focusing on the role of outer chloroplast envelope channels in Arabidopsis. We found that loss of OEP23 causes cold sensitivity accompanied by deficiencies in lipid remodeling. We will further investigate the molecular function of OEP23 by elucidating its structure and interaction partners. In addition, a genetic screen using the oemiR plasmid collection will identify distinct phenotypes of outer envelope channel double mutants under acclimation conditions.
