Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 290391021
Project C1 investigates Neolithic transformations in the 3rd millennium BCE of Northern Central Europe, focussed on the southern Cimbrian peninsula. Building on previous discoveries, regions with dispersed settlement areas, agglomerated mega-settlements and palisade enclosures as communicative places from the Middle and Late Neolithic in the North German lowlands and Southern Scandina-via will be further investigated in order to fathom cultural transformation processes. Additionally, the transformation to the Late Neolithic in the same area and its connection to the agricultural change will be studied, including the comparison of developments in southern Sweden and northern Germany.
