Project Details
Structure, dynamics and interactions of proteins during membrane association and dissocia-tion studied by hp-FRET (A08)
Subject Area
Biophysics
Term
since 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 267205415
In this project we want to decipher how structural identity and molecular interactions between membrane proteins and lipids give rise to the functionality of the system in and across membranes in space and time. We will combine Förster Resonance Energy Transfer measurements with super-resolved multi-parameter fluorescence image spectroscopy in vitro and in cells to study the dynamics of exemplary biomolecular assemblies with distinct project partners in this CRC: (1) maturation of the lipase LipA during translocation, (2) membrane shaping by the protein GABARAP and (3) oligomerization of the membrane protein receptors CD95.
