The aim of the project “Consolidation of the specialist information service for Slavic studies” is to secure and expand the existing service offers for Slavic research in the areas of information procurement, Slavic studies portal (SP) and expansion of its bibliographic base, expansion of the historical digital dictionary of Slavic languages MultiSlavDict (MSD) as well as the OA repository SlavDok, the corpus of Church Slavica and the translation database SLAW-DE. As part of the content and depth development, machine learning methods and technologies such as NLTK and ChatGPT should be increasingly used for all Slavic languages. The current work program for the FID Slavic Studies is being designed against the background of the Russo-Ukrainian War and its impact on the security and reliability of information gathering from the region. Securing access to reliable sources of information is also crucial for linguistic and literary research in Germany. The work program takes into account the results of a survey among experts from the end of 2023 and the subsequent consultations with the expert advisory board. In addition, coordination was carried out with the BSB Munich and the UB Kiel as part of the NordOst network. The experiences gained from various committees of the overall FID structure (AG FID, UAG, Coffee Lectures, networks), in particular the Philologies and VuFind networks, as well as the experiences gained in other FIDs of the SBB, are becoming more important. The cooperation with the National Research Data Initiative Text+ is being expanded in close coordination with the Association of German Slavic Studies.
