This film studies project deals with films, videos and television productions that mark highly diverse perspectives on German society and its cultural diversity. It examines the relationship between audiovisual media production and processes of cultural community building. It focuses on two questions: 1. how do experiences of being affected through audiovisual images intervene in the affective economies of political communities, and 2. how do they create those cultures of shared perceptibilities that are currently so vehemently opposed to each other?
