Bringing together Theatre and Literary Studies the research project sets out to develop the concept of Affective Contemporaneity aimed at forms and formats in contemporary literature and theatre that negotiate contested feelings and ways of conviviality in postmigrant societies. The theoretical development of the concept will be informed by studies of two contemporary salient, historically developed constellations of feeling, ‘compassion’ and ‘solidarity’.
