Affective Engagements: Activist Mobilizations of Decolonial Debates on Cultural Goods and Societal Transformation Between Tanzania and Germany (D01 [C03])

Subject Area Social and Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology
Term since 2015
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 258523721

Project Description

The anthropological project explores how the affective work of activist actors in urban centers in Tanzania and Germany mobilizes societal debates in relation to the coloniality of cultural goods. It asks in particular how modalities of feeling become the object of negotiation between individual activists and activist groups, as well as between them and other actors and institutions in their societies. The project seeks to establish the anthropological research area affect and activism in relation to decolonial struggles in transnational settings.
