Die forging of coaxially arranged hybrid semi-finished parts (B02)

Subject Area Primary Shaping and Reshaping Technology, Additive Manufacturing
Term since 2015
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 252662854

Project Description

The aim of subproject B02 is the implementation of an industry-oriented multi-stage forming process for the production of the new demonstrator "spur gear shaft". For this purpose, the intermediate and final form as well as the functionalities are individualised in connection with hybrid material concepts. Dynamic tempering is used to adapt the properties in the workpiece with regard to forming in modular tools. Process-integrated monitoring of relevant variables such as geometry and temperature are used to adjust the joining zone properties and material distribution as well as to expand the process window and ensure process stability for reproducible results.
