In this project, numerical methods for different variants of (nonlinear) time-dependent Maxwell and wave-type equations will be analyzed. For Friedrichs' systems local time-stepping methods with discontinuous Galerkin methods in space will be studied. Different time discretizations will be combined in domain decomposition schemes. The convergence analysis of semilinear wave equations in low regularity depends on Strichartz estimates, and that of quasilinear Maxwell systems on energy methods.
