Project Details
The role of dendritic cells in coordinating innate leukocyte trafficking (A11*)
Subject Area
Immunology
Term
from 2015 to 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 165054336
The proposed project investigates how dendritic cells influence the recruitment and distribution of innate immune cells in nonlymphoid target organs in steady state and after infection. Intravital imaging and dendritic cell depletion will be used to investigate the movements and chemotactic properties of dendritic cells, as well as how dendritic cells alter the chemotactic properties of the tissue microenvironment. Additionally, it will be investigated how a highly dynamic and short-lived cell population like DCs is replenished during immune responses.
