Project Description

In this proposal, we will use high-precision triple oxygen isotope data in combination with triple silicon data and trace elements of cherts to obtain information about the d18O of Archean seawater. We want to answer the question whether the d18O of the oceans changed during time or remained constant. This information has important implication the reconstruction of paleo-ocean temperatures deep in time.
