Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse

We developed a hitherto unavailable, microscopic, rigorously derived theory of non-interacting manyparticle quantum transport across one dimensional lattices, which fully accounts for the finite size of source and drain. These results can help to interpret and to guide cutting-edge quantum optics experiments which mimic fundamental scenarios of many particle transport in the condensed phase, with unprecedented control over all relevant model parameters. In a broader context, this contributes to the highly relevant attempt to define benchmarks for the performance of quantum simulators (i.e., “single-purpose” quantum computers), and paves the way for a deeper and systematic understanding of the hitherto largely uncharted phenomenology of highly controlled, and microscopically resolved, correlated many-particle dynamics.
