Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse

The growth and the interface dynamics of single and multiple bubbles in the gravitational field at boiling condition are visualized for an one component fluid in an optical accessible vessel by high-speed shadowgraphy. Since n-butane is boiling at moderate pressure at room temperature, it was chosen as the fluid to be used. The vessel and measurement equipment and control devices were constructed and/or assembled. High-speed movies of single and multiple bubbles were shot at different conditions with constant or time dependent pressures close to the boiling pressure of the fluid at room temperature. The physical parameters which could be realized lead to non-spherical bubbles which typically lie in the regime of wobbling bubbles in a Reynolds, Eötvös and Morton number diagram. The experimental data are available to be compared with numerical results to validate the mathematical models. The comparison with the mathematical models is open, since a matching between the feasible numerical conditions and the experiment is still open.
