Project Details
Thermodynamics and kinetics of Ni- and Co-based superalloys: data integration and extension of data bases (C06)
Subject Area
Thermodynamics and Kinetics as well as Properties of Phases and Microstructure of Materials
Term
from 2012 to 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 190389738
Experimental and simulation data represent discrete data points, which show scatter and contain systematic errors. Physically-based models can correlate these data and to assess these data for consistency. This allows for safe extrapolation. This also allows to reduce the number of experiments required for the development of new materials and processes. With this objective project continues its development of thermodynamic/kinetic data bases. New emphasis will be placed on the integration of mechanical data, with the objective to allow identifying statistically sound correlations between materials chemistry, microstructure and mechanical data. This provides crucial input for the alloy design tool which project develops
