Project Details
Additive manufacturing of single crystalline superalloys (B02)
Subject Area
Metallurgical, Thermal and Thermomechanical Treatment of Materials
Term
from 2012 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 190389738
Project B2 aims at exploring the potential of selective electron beam melting (SEBM) for additive production of single crystalline super alloys. The aim is to uncover the basic mechanisms of single crystal generation from the powder bed and to use the process inherent high cooling rates for the production of ultra-fine, homogeneous microstructures in order to enhance the properties of single crystalline superalloys.
