Final Report Abstract
In the framework of the granted work, we revealed mechanistic insights into the role of N-terminal phosphorylation of LHCSR3. We conclude, that there is a dynamic interplay between LHCSR3 and LHCB4 phosphorylation that is aimed at controlling stability of PSII- supercomplexes and PSII repair. Our work also indicated that a decline in LHCSR3 phosphorylation and turn-over of the PSBS protein coincide with changes the partitioning of LEF and CEF. Here more work is required to understand these interconnections. Moreover, our data revealed the composition of the PSI-LHCI complex. It further identified that LHCSR3 binds to LHCA5 in the PSI-LHCI supercomplex forming a complex for efficient energy quenching under light stress conditions.
