Studies on the immune function of human slan-dendritic cells in psoriasis (N)

Subject Area Dermatology
Term from 2011 to 2015
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 178696424

Project Description

Psoriasis is a chronic immune mediated skin disease regulated by dendritic cells (DCs). Our studies reveal the functional and molecular specialization of slanDCs in psoriasis. With the next funding period we want to study details of the proinflammatory potential of slanDCs in vivo using the model of human psoriasis skin grafted to immunodeficient mice, the functional relevance of genes overexpressed in slanDCs in psoriasis, and finally, the frequency, the location, and the cellular partners of slanDCs in neutrophil rich pustular versus chronic plaque psoriasis.
