One advantage of PM pseudo-alloys is the variable combination of hard phase particles and metal matrix powders. To obtain materials of full density, hot isostatic pressing is an adequate process that can also be applied to produce coatings on low alloyed substrate materials via HIP-cladding. Furthermore, thick wear resistant coatings can also be produced by thermal spraying, for instance HVOF.The ambition of this research project is the development of novel PM pseudo-alloys using different processing routes. In this context, specific advantages of the processes under considerations shall be utilized for certain applications. Besides, these novel alloys are also designed with respect to higher application temperatures. The properties are measured in close collaboration with the project partner of TP2 and TP4 aiming at an optimum adaption of alloy development to results of wear and fatigue testing.
