Purchasing virtual reality equipment in form of a holobench will have impact on a large variety of fields at Jacobs University. These fields include Computer Science, Geosciences, Computational Sciences, Natural Sciences, Engineering, and Psychology. Interactive visualization in a stereoscopic immersive environment opens up for a more intuitive exploration of the observed data and for a more goal-oriented investigation of phenomena. Such a human-interaction technology that also alleviates depth perception issues is currently not available to researchers at Jacobs University, although research could benefit substantially.
