Assembly of layers in 3D with guiding frames (C02)

Subject Area Theoretical Chemistry: Electronic Structure, Dynamics, Simulation
Term from 2008 to 2017
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 49579428

Project Description

Based on the Frame Guided Assembly strategy, recently put forward by the Liu group, amphiphilic molecules are guided by the frames to form size and shape defined assemblies. In the project C02, which now combines experimental and theoretical work, we aim to understand the mechanisms that influence the layer assembly. For this purpose the influence of the variation of key parameters (e.g. density of anchor points and density of amphiphilic molecules) on the resulting self-assembly will be studied. Furthermore, responsiveness will be introduced for potential applications in controllable drug deliveries.
