The physical model, which is based on the rule of mixtures for the prediction of transformation-induced plasticity and twinning-induced plasticity effects in as-cast austenitic steels, will be extended. With the aid of the transformation-temperature diagrams, the strength and strain contributions due to the induced deformation mechanisms will be quantified. Finally, a thermodynamic-mechanical model will be developed which allows to predict the deformation-induced martensitic transformation, deformation twinning, and the mechanical properties of TRIP/TWIP steels.
